How It All Started
In May 2002, in preparation for the release of The Two Towers movie later that year, I borrowed my dear friend's copy of The Lord of the Rings. School was about to end and I was going to Italy that summer, and I intended to read the book on the trip. I told my friend this, and she said I had better not take her copy because she had not gotten to read this new copy I had borrowed. I thought this was funny, since she has read this book at least 10 times. She was jealous of my trip to Italy, so I joked that I would take her book along and take pictures of it at all the famous places I was going to visit. She thought this was funny, but still would rather have her book for the summer. Needless to say, I ended up with the book anyway. I figured I would make it up to her by doing exactly what I had joked about doing.
