If you ever want to learn about thoroughbred horses or the horse industry of Kentucky, I highly encourage a visit to the Kentucky Horse Park and the International Museum of the Horse. Even in the winter, the Horse Park is quite an attraction with their Southern Lights display from mid-November through December.
